A German zookeeper who lovingly raised celebrity polar cub Knut at Berlin zoo has died of a heart attack aged 44.

Berlin police said Thomas Doerflein was found dead in his apartment in a western district of Berlin near the zoo. Doerflein shot to fame and gained scores of female fans when he hand-reared Knut after he was rejected by his mother.

China has successfully completed its first spacewalk in an exercise that is seen as key to China's goal to build an orbiting space station.

Astronaut Zhai Zhigang completed the 15 minute spacewalk after clambering out of China's Shenzhou VII space craft.

Half-motorbike, half-bicycle - an Austrian inventor says his creation, the "ErockIT", is a cool electric vehicle.

"ErockIT" riders have to pedal to get the bike going, and the faster they pedal, the faster the motor goes.

The bike can reach speeds of up to 80 kilometres, or almost 50 miles, per hour and its inventor says it could revolutionise transport.

Hackers broke into a computer system at CERN's Large Hadron Collider, targeting a system that was "one step away" from a control computer, but otherwise appear to have done no major damage, according to a report on Friday in the British newspaper The Telegraph.

The system that was breached monitors the Compact Muon Solenoid Experiment, which will be analyzing data during subatomic particle collisions in the particle accelerator located along the French-Swiss border. Experiments, which began on Wednesday, are designed to help scientists explore particle physics theories.

It's not a doll, it's an action figure! And it's not just an action figure, it's a superhero. US Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin might be America's new wonder woman.

Atleast that's the idea behind the new 12-inch tall action figures made to look like Palin. There are three versions of the action figures, an executive, a school girl and a .45 caliber gun-toting superhero.

The action figures went on sale for the first time on June 8 and so far the response has been good.
